The Number One Reason Why Some People Choose Exotic Pets

Indeed what is the reason why your friend, relative or neighbor chose an iguana or a boa constrictor for a pet? The reason is obvious. Aside from wanting to be different, there is the ultimate pleasure and satisfaction in owning an exotic pet. This puts you in a class by yourself, a feeling of being a cut above the rest. Moreover, it adds a bit of dash and color to one’s character and personality.  In truth, it can make the drabbest of personalities appear more interesting, if not downright exciting.

Showing off

Why not? You are now a world apart from your nearest neighbor who loves to show off his Alsatian who has garnered several awards in a recent dog show and your friend who has half a dozen trained mynah birds which he engages in endless chatter to entertain guests. They would pale beside the rare Philippine monkey eating eagle or the African pygmy marmoset. The more exotic and rarer, the better. Of course, they come with a price tag way beyond the reach of the average man on the street.

Some difficulties

Besides acquiring them may prove to be more difficult than climbing Mt. Everest in the coldest of winters. You have to deal with the government, the wild life preservationists, environmentalists, animal lovers and the country where these exotic finds came from.  And believe me, they will be hot on your heels and before you know it, you will be facing a lawsuit even before you can catch your breath.

But with all these drawbacks, you will be surprised at what lengths some people would do to acquire them. Poachers are most willing to do this for a price. Their market is the idle rich who have more money and time in their hands to indulge in this hobby.  Fortunately, you don’t need deep pockets to own a classified exotic pet. Pet shops now offer more exotic varieties to choose from.

Exotic pet ideas

Green turtles are exotic pets and so are gazelles.  And they cost much less aside from being a lot better looking than most of these exotica found in the remotest jungles of Africa and Asia. We have our own treasure trove of potential pets right in your own backyard. In fact, you don’t have to join a safari to get your hands on exotic pets. We have a lot of exotic looking potential pets even in our own backyard.

Just look and follow your instincts, and eventually you will stumble upon an unusual animal, be it a dog, horse, sheep or what have you. They may not look exotic, nor appear unusual by any stretch of the imagination, but they may possess rare qualities or distinct behavior that are indeed unusual, a cut above the rest, and voila, you will have something that your friends and neighbors will be talking about.

Extraordinarily exotic

A pet with extraordinary habit,  possessing a certain flair that no exotic animal can ever possess, an unusual way of loving  and caring for its master, and serving him in a way that very few humans are capable of. That is, laying down their life unconditionally for their master. Try owning an ordinary pet and caring for him,, and you will know what we mean by an extraordinary pet, never mind if he is just a mutt or a stray cat  you picked up in an abandoned alley.
